Most Popular Knife Brand

Servotronics has never been related to Cutco or KA-BAR in any way. Cutco is privately owned, run by father and son, and is the parent company of KA-BAR since the mid-nineties. Cutco is also the top selling brand of high-end knives in the USA, with over 17 million CUSTOMERS. :)

I also found this thread in search of the top-selling knife brand in the world, I mean what is the knife that more people have bought than any other knife? It must be something cheap that can be found at Wal-Mart or something. Anyone?

Due to the lack of knowledge about what a real knife is, I would have to agree with stuff like buck, victorinox, etc. Most people just see a cool knife on the shelf that looks like something Rambo may Carey and say "now that is the best knife ever!". Smith and Lesson (spelling?) would also be up there. They are in tractor supply stores from Maryland to Michigan andprobably even more.

This thread is over 4 years old.

Just a little FYI.. ;)

And, cutcoguy, your post is suspiciously spammy in that Cutco independent sales representative kinda way we see here so often. In my opinion.

Wenger and Victorinox, or should I just say Victorinox nowdays?

When did Vic buy Wenger? About 10 years ago. right?

I'm going to go with victorinox, buck or kabar. Are we including all knives? Does kitchen cutlery count?

For cheaper knives: Buck, Case(some of them at least), Opinel, Victorinox
For more expensive knives: Benchmade and Spyderco.

In the world? Victorinox, Opinel, and Mora seem to be everywhere. Cheap and often fit the criteria for many strict knife laws.
In the US? Gerber, Case, Ontario, Victorinox, and Buck can be found everywhere.

Well, it may be a necro-thread, but still fun speculating!

I say Stanley. How many utility knives (well, blades....) are used & replaced in the world every day? I bet it's enough to make Victorinox look like an afterthought.

I would have to say :
1) Victorionox swiss army knives
( it is so popular that some people now think that any red handled folder is a victorionox)
2) Buck knives ( it is so popular that some people think that ANY fixed blade clip point is a Buck knife

No denying it - Victorinox. Victorinox makes 30 million (give or take a couple of million) knives each year, year in and year out.

Buck is so big, its almost like Kleenex. People say "do you have a kleenex?" even though its a brand, a tissue is the word for it. People tell the cops "He pulled out a big buck knife" even though it wasn't a buck, its just a "buck knife"
When you have that reputation you know its big.
