I ordered some belts from Lee Valley and they arrived yesterday. My first "test" was on a old very very dull hatchet. It is interesting to see how the differing grits work through the metal. I was able to get a very nice edge on the hatchet, and now I'm playing with a hunting knife with a soligen german blade.

This beats sitting behind a stone hands down!

I have the same one! For the price it's hard to beat. I have done several knives using blades from Ragner and then shaping handles using a band saw and that little bugger. Good score!

thanks, I'm really new with it so I'm trying to figure out what the different belts do and my angles before I start using it on my good knives.
