My BIL got my son a Cold Steel Chaos Stiletto

At 13-15 I don’t remember exact age I thought the $30 British commando dagger from LL Bean catalog(cheaper elsewhere) was essential city carry gear!
(Of course it probably was at that time, NYC not being as law abiding as it is today)

Yeah, but he also knows what a good knife is and should be, he understands this for what it is.
Maybe he thought the kid should experience something unusual ( besides a sea of cheap slut machetes ) .:p

I always thought the newer model trench knives like the Chaos looked like those cheap, chinese swap meet knives from the 90s...no offense. I'm sure it's probably a fine knife. You son is a lucky boy, tell him to be careful w/ it. :)

Seen similar pieces in museums, probably WW I era: triangular blade, wooden handle, loop style guard. Probably dreamed up by some war department REMF. Good for piercing chain mail, tho':D.

I definitely would've loved something like this as a kid for some strange reason.
I was stuped and was always wanting stuff that would be absolutely useless to me.

Maybe part of the design was to make it more "GI proof" (unbreakable) compared to a thin dagger blade .
