This is my second competition chopper. This one is .380" M4. It is hollow ground to remove weight. It is not quite as thick or heavy as BC's, but I am looking forward to using it at the BladeSports National Competition.
 
Looks like it’s going to be very effective and good luck at the event.

Do you mind me asking what the handle material is? It’s looks incredibly comfortable and shock absorbing.
 
I’ve read where Big Chris said he uses horse stall mats. For the reasons you mentioned, grip and shock absorption.

It is a dense rubber floor mat.
It provides additional traction and shock absorption.

Her knife is also the first one I have made using hidden mortise tang construction.
She needed a little more cushion on the spine than was capable with a full tapered tang.
Really looking forward to what she will be able to do with this one.
