My humble Opinel No.9. My perfect knife

Watch out you will instantly go from one Opinel to too many in a quick time, such a value so they are easy to justify the impulse purchase. When you get too many either turn someone else onto the Opinel or start modifying them. Great simple knives.

Good knives. Fun to customize. My favorite re finishing is a good sealer/stain followed up by several applications of Birchwood Casey gun stock finish.

I had the #8 for a week and loved it so I ordered a #6 and got that today.
I'm on the small side so smaller knifes go well with me.

The #6 is smaller by about 1/2" in the blade
and the same in handle length. The handle is a little thinner too.
It is really light and very sharp. I'm really liking these Opinels
I want a #9 next just for a bigger version but I want a #8 in Walnut or Oak too.
I'm glad I found out about these knives and my wifes glad they're not expensive.

ps, Mine so far are Carbone steel. Even I can sharpen these!

Number 9, number 9, number 9... is just happens to be the knife I have been carrying for about a week or two.

Paul is dead.

I modified the spine so it is one continuous curve and has a drop point. I'll probably do something with the handle.

Nos. 7 & 8 for me - both Inox.

They are absolutely the best knives for the money I have ever used.
