Yes, it was me..... ;)

I shot a quick picture of some of the most symmetrical and virtually perfectly matched blades extant. The 4 at the bottom are one-of except for the Hunter, which he has made a few, and the other two are representative of Nathan's knives he makes in batches, albeit at different levels of finish on his Fighters....I have a number of others with those finishes but this will give folks an idea. ;)

Hey Dudley....that dagger is sikkk brother!!

I tried to get Nathan to agree to a bunch more at Blade, but he just gave me stink eye, lol.:D

Best Regards,

Cool dagger, Dudley. Glad you were able to get it. I had inquired some time ago about the daggers, after getting my second shiv, but timing is, of course, everything!

You were doing the lords work. Those daggers are amazing.

hmmm...I DO have your address... :)

This probably IS the 'Combat Version'....subdued, stonewashed, and black G10. I appreciate getting it from Nathan and I, too, have been bugging him since the mention of an integral dagger years ago. I have been very fortunate to have been able to get some his finest works and to meet his family....a great experience all around.

I always have an eye out for his incredible works of Metallic Art..... ;)

Congrats on the dagger.
I will admit I wanted it, but alas, wasn't meant to be.
The fact that you have it Dudley makes me feel better about my choices in knives.
I too have one of "The Machinist" hunters, and everyone that uses it wants to know where they can get one. Functional Metallic Art, made by a craftsman.

Really nice collection of Carothers there... always interested to see what he comes up with next!

Thanks, Dudley. Combat, it is.
Nathan has a slab of vintage GE Micarta. I wonder how he'll use it?

I bow to the awesomeness of your collection, which dwarfs my tiny collection of three knives. What I would not give for that dagger, or one of the daggers he made a couple of years ago . . .

My most recent acquisition, the field knife which he developed with Lorien, is a full user for me. In fact, I used it just this morning to cut an 8 pound chuck roast in half for two slow cooker recipes that I am cooking for a party at my daughter's school tonight. It sliced through that hunk of meat like cutting butter. I have never seen anything like it.

Folks, these are tremendous performance knives and IMO incredible values.

I am fortunate and will be the first to admit it.

The small Hunter is made from D2 with Nathans one-of heat-treat. It's 60Rc or better and will flex over my thumbnail and is more than likely the sharpest knife I have ever seen.

Those are all great knives, but that dagger is really exceptional and unique. You deserve getting that one for all the support you've given makers through the years.

me too.. I got one of his Shiv in 3v already..Id like a longer wider blade on that dagger tough.. but thats just me

Yeah, there might be some wonky perspective in that photograph distorting some of the proportions a little. In reality the blade is larger and the pommel smaller than that picture looks.

Here is a photo taken pulled away to a distance to reduce the distorting effects of perspective, I think it's a little more accurate:

I found one of that double edge Shiv too:

I appreciate you folk's interest in my work. Thank you Dudley for the thread. This is the first time I've seen all these patterns together like this. Very cool.
