After reading similar threads, most armed forces guys say by the end of their tour, they carried their multi-tool and maybe had a machete in the vehicle. the big fancy 'Rambo' knives were locked away at home base or mailed home. when I was in the USN, you were not allowed to carry a knife without a permit, even off duty. i guess selling some blades to special forces troops is good copy. Jay Fisher has a whole section about 'Tactical Knives' some for SEALS, some for USAF pararescue and spec ops. http://www.jayfisher.com/Military_Combat_Rescue_Tactical_Knives_Portal.htm

I had this conversation a few weeks ago with my friend who trains with police and military guys (my friend is a Lt. Det. of a very large police dept. and takes these shooting classes 2-3 X a year.). These classes are taught by active and retired SpecOps guys (Delta, Seal, etc.). A police officer who is a friend of Winkler put a few knives and axes in the hands of these guys. Being a very tight knit community, deals were made (as friends will do) and Winkler's friend was in the right place and right time for the connection. I'm not stating this as fact or verbatim intel, just a second hand account of how it went down. This is how most deals are made regardless of industry. Friends take care of friends and make things happen. Again, to clarify, this is my understanding of how it went down, I'm not stating this as fact.

My 2 cents. One Reason some carry daniel winkler is because they are given one upon completion of NSW Sniper School. As seen in the photos of my Daniel Winkler Sayoc RnD Compact. probably bought by the people who run the school. as not a lot of people pass. the hardest class in the military. Some Say. I concur

Do you by any chance still have this Winkler tomahawk?
