Need budget knives for groomsmen gifts... IDEAS?

SOG Blink = $35. AUS-8 steel, assisted opening technology, money/pocket clip, lockblade.

Kershaw Splinter ~$90.....Kershaw Nakamura can be had for $99, if you look on the internet. Both are very nice knives for the best man!

Was going to say go with Stainless Delicas with their initials engraved on them.

I cannot fault the Case Whittlers. Got to love the classics.

I've decided to go with either a Case Whittler or an Eye Brand Stockman (stag handles).

The best man is still up in the air but I really like that MCUSTA posted earlier.

I suggest something traditional if giving a knife for a formal occation. Case, Queen, or Boker. Many models have metal bolsters that would be good for engraving initials.

I would not give someone a plastic knife as a gift. Like school on Saturday, no class.

Best Luck,
-Bob

I will also go for a traditional pattern as a gift. The SS Kiwi is great too, but You can give Victorinox soldiers with 3 letter engraving (they have a panel) and it's probably the most useful knife to give to non knife folks. Or knife nuts, for that matter. Or, you can get a few Vic copper cadets-they look great, and they're easy to carry.

This is what I decided to go with for the groomsmen. They are $43 from Sooner State in copobolo... I might order one in stag for my friend who is a deer hunter.

The Queen Gunstock with D2 clip and pen blades:

Freakin' beautiful. Let me know if you need a substitute groomsman. I love a good wedding reception, especially if the bridesmaids are pretty. :)

How about the Benchemite II? they're pretty cheap, and nice looking enough.

I gave away Leeks as groomsmen gifts, and they were very well received. The Assisted Open factor is unique, and the 440 C is very easy to sharpen. The stainless Leeks look very classy, but the Red/Black/Blue "Smoke" anodized versions are also nice and unique (I gave away stainless, my own is a Black Smoke anodized version, a gift from my wife for my birthday).

I've also received a Swiss Army Knife as a groomsmen gift in the past, which is where I got the idea to give a knife as a gift for my own wedding.

None of my groomsmen are knifenuts, and I can attest that both of them EDC their Leeks regularly (married + 1 year now)!

Congratulations on your forthcoming marriage! :D

Nice choice. I love the gunstock pattern and D2 blades are nice.

I just gave all my groomsman & best man a Flask with their initials.

Grats on the upcoming marriage.

P.S. Buy all the toys you want fast, before you are accountable :)

I agree on the Kershaw Leek. I have the 1660ST and the Assisted opening always gets a big WOW.

Quality seems A+ also. Everyone would be impressed.

Congrats and best wishes.

I want the Kershaw Nakamura for myself! :-D

With all the advice on Leeks, I'll try to find somewhere to check them out before buying the Queens. Now it's a choice of gadget or classic. I could probably have the Leeks engraved though.

Why dont you send a message to Sal here on the forums? He's the big man in charge at Spyderco.

He's also extremely nice, and I'm sure could recommend something from his Spyderco line and maybe even help out with engraving. With buying so many, he may even help you with a price break.

It's worth a shot.

Nevermind I didnt see you already bought knives. Those looks great.
