Hello all. Over the last year I have been teaching my self to make knives. I have spent a lot of time searching these forums and absorbing as much knowledge as I can. I have a lot more learning to do and look forward to participating in the forums. My big event right now is buying a 2x72 from Brett Mathews at Esteem Grinders. Really excited about that! I have been using a 1x30 from you know where. I have made my 12 Knives with it. Lots of hand sanding and hiding of bad plunges/bevels. Anyways, just stopping by to say thanks and show off my rookie blades! I will post some photos in order from first knife on. Please give me your ruthless opinion.938A97EF-290B-482D-8454-C2398878EA2E.jpegEDF38BBB-DF98-43DD-BF20-4ABF53F829E7.jpeg EAD35566-C941-45FD-B336-757DF5FB3663.jpegBA98EB5F-4E51-491B-AA97-EA8DB0539336.jpeg 61789582-2AAF-4F11-9DA6-2FFC04A1D162.jpeg35C58983-C95B-4590-8AE3-D757DC3A125B.jpeg 233B31D2-A7B8-4BC7-BAD1-68A5D00DFC63.jpeg D9D94670-4E8F-49BA-8F9A-E962CBC38B97.jpeg 75AE97DA-05FB-42D9-912F-64CF6022D656.jpeg B25A7590-1C16-46D6-A8F3-6D443393E4DA.jpeg

Nice, good overall shapes, what steel are you using?
Thanks. They are all 01 flat ground stock heat treated at home. I get most of my inspiration from D. Cameau Custom Knives. He has a bunch of patterns on his site. I use them for a rough shape and then grind till I am happy. I aspire to design my own knives someday but my drawing skills are not great. When I get my 2x72 I think I might just go to the grinder with a piece of stock and grind it until I have a shape I like. Trace that to a pattern and use again. Thanks again.

Hey K7JDD very cool looking knives. I don't know the first thing about making knives but I sure as hell know what I like and those all looked cool as hell to me.:cool:
