Internationally Fabricated and Boring?

I hate to be a downer here, but much like the Becker folder, the camp knives are examples of what could have been a good but the materials and manufacturing location are going to make it a hard pass for me. Had it been made in the USA with 1095, or in the Taiwan plant out of 1085 as some of their other knives are, I’d be game. But when my eye sees China and 8cr, I tend to keep scrolling right past.

I sincerely hope this isn’t indicative of the direction Kabar is headed.

Shame........it's an insult to my favorite Ka-Bar......
A BK5

If it were American made, I would of bought it.

It's an insult to the brand the direction this year's offerings are headed. So we are moving down in the quality of steel and designs, and outsourcing to foreign countries.

Is kabar trying to become Gerber? Looks like they are taking the first steps of throwing their name away. Kabar is dead to me now.

I would love to see a USA Made Ka-Bar traditional slip joint again every one I has seen in the past was a home run not sure who made them if it was in house or sourced and if sourced I know that pool is shrinking.

I like the trailing point one and will order today. Tight market and like many companies, IMO, have different series of products for different parts of the market. Just my opinion.

I am not a big fixed blade user, but the new TDIs look interesting. I don't mind the steel change for these two.
I hope the sheaths have a more secure fit than the older versions.
