Hello all! I've enjoyed reading some of your posts. I found you doing a search for the best way to change the handle on a throwing hawk but I'm unable to locate that discussion. Can you please point me in the right direction? I failed to take 2 pieces of advice when I bought my hawks (and a throwing knife).
1. Buy replacement handles at the same time you buy the hawks, and
2. Don't throw a hawk with another already stuck in the target. I split one of my handles! Tight group, but...
I have 2 mouse hawks and 1 tomahawk. All are from Log Cabin but I don't remember the name of the smith. I'm still very much a hobbyist and don't get to throw much, but boy is it fun! I notice there's also discussions about sharpening them. Is that something I should do too?
Thanks in advance for the handle help. I got some nice sheaths for them at the National Muzzle Loading Rifle Association's spring meet in Friendship, IN. I don't have to worry about tossing them on the seat or accidentally slicing open anyone's flesh now. The mouse hawks are especially sharp.
