I've been a knife collector for a long time now and I have always wanted to learn how to throw knives. Now that I'm out of college and have the time, I would like to learn the art. Can someone suggest good books, videos and a set of quality knives for a beginner?

Welcome Newbie,
The best books to look for are by Harry K McEvoy. I make a line of quality custom throwers which can be found www.brantonknives.com and www.americantomahawk.com You can also visit http://www.commonlogic.com/knife/index.htm
and http://www.crl.com/%7Emjr/thrower.html

All of these sites have good information for the beginner. Just make sure that you get a good set of knives and stay away from the light imported stuff. I hope this helps.

Harry McEvoy's books rock I have a couple of them, one I even got to have him sign for me.

Bobby,

That last link didn't work. Can you double check it for me? I'm going to get the books and read them before I order some knives. There are so many styles, I don't which to get!

Ben,
I think that you should purchase/try a few different model knives before settling on a style of knife.
I find that all the production models are harder to throw consistantly because they are usually litght weight and shorter than the handmade versions.
I hope this helps.
I have gotten alot of good information on throwing styles and form from the internet.
