I went contrarian and voted for the DEK1. That was a placeholder for my true interest which is a “DEK4” with @Non.Nisi.Te ‘s Insingo-ish blade shape if he would license it to Nathan for free in exchange for having his logo added to the blade along with Nathan & Lorien’s. Another blade shape option on one the absolute best handles on the market has a lot of practical appeal.

That would be very cool. No idea why Nathan has never considered a straight edge'd knife, but I would love one.

The Kukri looks terrific. Would be awesome to have a modern best-in-class version, no doubt.

Just curious how much the price will increase from tariffs, and if it might make sense to wait a bit and in the meantime do a preorder with existing steel.

Does anyone have the dimensions of the Kukri in terms of length, thickness and weight?

Why would you think CPK will give you the steel price they once paid for steel bought long time ago, instead of (fairly) accounting for today’s market value ?

I’m going off what Nathan posted earlier in this thread. As Nathan suggests, might make sense to wait and see if the tariff comes down before making a huge purchase of steel for this run.

"The import duties for European steel into the US have recently been raised to 50%, according to The New York Times and PBS. Previously, a 25% tariff was in place, but on June 4, 2025, the Trump administration doubled those tariffs to 50%."

The Kukri will be imported material.

Depending on what my quote looks like, we may hold off on production for a while until the tariff clusterfuck is resolved. I'll be talking to Niagara about it this weekend in Atlanta.

I highly suspect that someone or something, say such as an Italian military satellite is switching Skinner votes to Kukri. Hate to break this to y'all but this one is rigged because not matter what, the Skinner will be the next pre-order.

Now stop the tomfoolery and go switch your votes back to the true winner!
