Until the K18 video, I had no idea that D3V was capable of that kind of flexibility. As a fencer, I would love to see a rapier. A lot of people make katanas, but few make rapiers and I would love to see what innovations Nathan could bring to the design.
I would buy one just for the visual theatrics for when I sing the great Metallica/Thin Lizzy song “Whiskey in the Jar”. Would make my karaoke outings more lively!!Until the K18 video, I had no idea that D3V was capable of that kind of flexibility.
I’d loooooooove to have a CPK D3V Rapier.
***sadly, I think there are literally maybe only a handful of us who’d be willing to pony up the $,$$$ for one

Doesn’t have to be quadruple hollow ground.I would pay for a D3V rapier in an instant.
I can't imagine the difficulties in making a quadruple hollow-ground blade that long, plus the hilt. Even with a half-hilt or a simple cup hilt, rapier hilts are complex.
RAPIER! RAPIER! RAPIER!Doesn’t have to be quadruple hollow ground.
There are a variety of blade profiles, to include flattened diamond or flats and primaries, that (in theory) would be able to be done on the machines, without requiring the hand grinding for the hollow grinds. The potential issues would be the length, and heat treat (i.e. Nate already mentioned issues with the K20. Can’t imagine a thinner 40’ish inch blade would be easier).
Doesn't need to, steak looks at a CPK and then cuts itself. That’s tiny brah. Will that even cut a steak?
Only if it's "Chuck" steak.Doesn't need to, steak looks at a CPK and then cuts itself.
I'm behind on answering, but that means nothing gets done.Let's see...if Mark S. builds the skinners, and Nathan builds the kukris, and Jo goes shopping to get away from both of them, how does that work out?
Can you still get a pile of each?
I just got the email for the pre-order for the kukri. I've been wanting a good chopper, but I missed that pre-order by quite a few months, so a kukri might be even better for me. Anyway, what are the specs on the kukri or where can I find the info, and when does the pre-order begin (the email says 5pm on Friday, but what time zone? I don't want to miss out on that, so I'll try to make sure that I'm in an area with cell service so that I can get in on the pre-order. Oh yeah, I should say that I live in my van full-time and I'm constantly traveling to areas without cellular reception, but a great chopper or kukri will help me out a lot everyday around the different campsites
. I happen to be in Park City, Yeah right now because my dog hurt her leg so I had to take her to an animal hospital and I'll have to take her in for an MRI on Monday morning, so I should remain in areas with decent cellular service for the next week.

Is that really fair though? I'm sure beer would be consumed and bottle caps would be shot at.I'm behind on answering, but that means nothing gets done.
