Ok, I thought they had passed a ban on the importation of one handed folders.
My bad.

Importing them is hit or miss right now, because the Border folks (CBSA) has a weird interpretation of the law, upheld by their Tribunal, which has led to seizures of some shipments.
The place I buy most of my knives from had a big seizure...but just got a new shipment of Cold Steel one-hand opening knives.

It is annoying because the Border people are seizing knives that are perfectly legal to own and carry in Canada...while letting others pass (sometimes the exact same knives from the same manufacturer) because they are perfectly legal to own and carry in Canada.

Right now I wouldn't be buying a one-hand opening knife from the States and having it shipped here.
It's like playing the lottery.

They kind of unilaterally decided that certain OHO were no longer allowed to be imported. The CBSA, not the federal government. The actual laws have not changed.

I say don't take any chances with the CBP, take a traditional nail nick folder of some sort instead.

I did that on a recent trip to Canada, and though I've been a "modern" folder guy for decades, now I can't kick this guy out of my regular carry rotation:

No pocket clip, no flipper, no thumbstud, wave, or opening hole and now it's one of my favorites, go figure.
