Nicer version of a Buck 112?

I just re-read your original post and see you are looking for a brass/wood knife so the Dorado may not be what you want. Sorry.

Yeah I would prefer to keep it as 'traditional' as possible. Thanks for the ideas, everyone.

Kershaw has lockbacks on the same general pattern.
So does Puma, thought I think they have stopped making the larger ones.

I would recommend puma. Depending on your price range. The aristocrat series are similar in look to the buck's. Have a look for a vintage model with date code stamped into the lock bar. The quality has lessened off & they no longer date stamp the bar. I have a 1975 Duke, which is just about identical in size to a 112. Holds a great edge. I have 3 vintage folders.
Take a look at these sites they specialise in the older models

www.pumaknifeguy.com

I have never dealt with them but there prices seem pretty reasonable. Hope this helps.

How about an EKA lockback? They use 12C27 and the designs are really nice. I own three and like them all very much. In fact, I like my Swede 82 much better than my Buck 110 or 112.

A Swede 88 would probably work for office carry, and it's only $29!! http://www.ragweedforge.com/eka-catalog.html

If you decide to stray a bit from traditional handle materials, Kershaw's Gentleman's Lockback with a VG-10 blade and black micarta handle is perfect for suit-carry. It's very slim and elegant and is very smooth.
