None of my CR-knives have blade play with the lock engaged. But try this: Open the knife half way. Then disengage the lockbar so that the blade can move freely between the slabs. Now pull/push the blade back and forth. Can you feel the horizontal blade play? Must be the tiny gap between bushing and blade hole. Freshly lubed knives don't show it.
