If you pay any attention to what's happening in the world, it's hard not to miss the old days, whatever that is to you. Heck, even 10 years ago seems so different. I consider myself blessed to have grown up in the 80s. So, I decided to spend time with a classic today.

Let's see your classic knives that bring you back to the good old days. Or let's see whatever you have that reminds you of the past, but if you can, throw a knife in the pic. It's Bladeforums, after all.

The Buck 110 I received as a Christmas present from my parents in 1982 at the age of 12. The Kissing Crane stiletto I bought mail-order in 1986 when I was about 15 or 16 (pre-internet, 6 to 8 weeks for delivery).

I still have both. They have both seen a lot of carry and use. The Buck was my camp/work knife, the stiletto my lightweight/pocket-carry/EDC. I carried the stiletto for 15 years. The Buck resides in a place of affection, and ready-availability on my desk (it's next to me as I type this).

Lots of memories with both knives :) .

Great thread! My member card when I was 15 y.o. Ordered a switchblade from them and never received. 35 years later I wanted a quality switchblade and my first knife that got into the knife world and more importantly, the community is this Beltrame! Got me into knives like I never seen coming😆. Been loving it the few years I’ve been “back”into it. The Kabar is the knife I would’ve loved back then cause I LOVE it now.

In 1983, I could not afford a Gerber Mark 1. In one of the many army surplus mail in catalogs that I had, I could afford a replica boot knife that looked like the Mark 1. It is in good shape because it was almost instantly taken away from me by my parents. I am sure I was getting ready to, or doing something worthy of its removal. 4 days after graduating HS, I was in the Army at Ft Benning, GA and could afford a real MK1. IMG_7023.JPG
