NYC Mayor de Blasio’s NYPD Promises Continued Gravity Knife Enforcement on Subways!

I'm sad to see the NYPD being spoken of in such a negative light.

They only enforce the law,(they do not create the law), in which (my opinion) they do as good a job that they are allowed to do given all their power to be a proactive police force has been stripped from them in the midst of all the liberals that unfortunately make up a large part of the city.

With the way things are going with the politicians in NY, the police wont even be allowed to look at anybody, period....I wonder when this nonsense will stop? Potentially when crime rates spike again like they were years ago, due to this huge hands off policy they seem to be pushing on the force as a whole.

the solution is simple (until the MTA rules are challenged and overturned to match state law) - just carry fixed blades on the subway?
(or a non-locking SAK)

New Yorkers deserve what they get when they elect some body like De Blasio. I find it hard to understand the behavior. Hopefully the next mayor will be a bit less rigid.
Was De Blasio ever from California? Or visited the left Coast recently? Even with a nonlockng Swiss Army, do you think that would not cause confiscation? What are the blade length restrictions for nonlocking folders and fixed blades?

This is merely a small example of something much bigger going on in America where the Leftists pick and choose which laws they decide to enforce or ignore.

yeah, this kind of bulls**t makes me glad i live in arizona. would be good if new york would institute the kind of preemption law that we have here, where no municipality can pass any laws stricter than the state has.

I'm in AZ also, born and raised. It's not the AZ I grew up in, much more purple and blue then ever. We can pick apart other states, but our own will be targeted for gun and knife rights, so what happens in NY affects us as well.

Join kniferights, and talk with your legislators constantly.

Both directions do this. I think this is just a misunderstanding caused by someone who was "stuck" in a subway.

When you talk about replacing blasio with a socialist well, that may be your problem, you keep voting in people who hate freedom and love government control

The very fact that police would defy laws themselves, to personally take it upon themselves to make up whatever laws they want, shows that there needs to be serious house cleaning in new york.

Remember, it is the duty of all patriots to combat a treacherous government.

" Just doing our job" is not an excuse for totalitarian oppression.

Sorry, but the NYPD have continually voiced their AGREEMENT with unconstitutional laws. They wholeheartedly backed the stop and frisk movement. They also cried liek babiues and threatened to not do their job when they were told not to go killing people indiscriminately and that change needed to occur.

I am sad to see police officers so easily and readily oppress their citizens with not so much as a grumble
