Recently got a Co-Pilot C09 stainless steel with brass liners, after playing with it about an hour I realized it was a lefty.
Would anyone know about when these were made, I never heard mention of a lefty model.

Thanks

You got an oldly, but a goody! I think Sal had posted the numbers for the old copilots at one time. Did you do a search?? Here and at the Spyderco forum??

Hi recoil,

You find lotsa great old stuff buddy!!

The brass lined Co-Pilots were pre 1995 and there were only a few lefties made. Great collector piece.

Blades,Joyce,

Thanks for the info, as for finding old stuff, in this case I thought I was getting a plain righty, SS model and was surprised when this arrived. After looking more closely it seems that the backstrap also forms the lock spring which also makes it a bit different from the current models.

Thanks again

recoil/dave

Thanks

We made a few hundred CoPilots with brass liners in the mid eighties. They were first introduced that way. They were long gone by '88. We also were making all models with left hand versions back then.
