old schrade catalogs??

The knives you are refering to are most likely and 881-Y 4" stockman or an 882-Y 4" stockman ( with birds eye rivets), or a 293-Y 3,7/8" trapper. All of these knifes have the Y designation ( for yellow comp). While there were some exceptions these were the main sizes and styles to incorporate this material. Your tang marking Should read Schrade Walden ( 46-73) or just Schrade (73- present). I believe these knives were made at least into the 80tys. I hope this helps Rich
