Broke my string of 3's but this was a more challenging word for me.

Blanked on ADIEU in the 1st try but STORY in the 2nd try revealed enough for me to solve it in 3.

That usually happens to me too.

The game is hard enough w/5 letters and I'm good enough at it to NOT feel like a failure at it.

So, I'm NOT looking to do anything "harder" yet.

Any game that I'm lousy at eventually I quit. So, no six letter Wordle for me. LOL!

That usually happens to me too.

I had the choice between 2 words today as well and "luckily" chose the "right" one, otherwise I would have solved it in 5 instead of 4 tries.

Four tries here. Had four letters after my first two guesses and pretty much figured out where they are belonged. Given that, there were a couple of options for the missing fifth letter, and I picked the wrong one first. Got it after that. There is an element of luck in the game to go with skill, and I think it is that combination that keeps it interesting.

Just like chess. I saw a video where a GM had his opponent in a mate in one, but he missed it and lost the game. It was blitz or bullet, mind you, but still. His opponent got lucky.

Yeah, today was one of those "go down the alphabet plugging in letters til you guess the right one" days.

Shade, Shake, Shale, Shame, Shape, Share, Shave . . .

You could have four letters correct right out of the gate and use all your remaining guesses trying to get the last letter, and still lose.



Of course, you could try a different strategy . . . which you can't use in "Hard" mode.

Rather than a 6 letter version of Wordle, I tried Quordle which requires you to play 4 different Wordle boards at the same time.

It's very challenging but still easier than the 6 letter Wordle to me. You have 9 tries to solve them all.

The quickest you can solve the 4 puzzles is in 2-5 tries but more likely 3-6. I don't feel bad solving this group in 3-8.
