If you could only have 2 knives you already own in a apocalyptic event what would they be and why. My 2 are, 1. Cold steel srk 3v, tough rugged, and won't break very easly given you don't pry with the tip (use a crowbar or rebar). And number 2. Spartan blades ronin shinto in magnacut because it's beefy, balanced, and strong. I was torn between the spartan ronin shinto and spartan horkos, I chose the ronin shinto because it's just a bigger piece of magnacut.

Carothers Shiv 2.0 and K20.1 (currently being made)

Gerber center drive. And the cold steel 4 max.

I still think being able hide a big knife in a pocket is a super handy feature.

If I have to pick only two knives, the first would be my ESEE 6. It can do a multitude of tasks, making it a very versatile tool. For my second choice, I’d bring my much-loved Spyderco Military, which can be found in my pocket most of the time.

Probably my Carothers FK2 and a Swisstool. The one with scissors. If multitools aren’t allowed, a GB2 or Magnacut Hogue Ritter.

TOPS Pry Knife.
The blade on a pliers-based multitool.

If that doesn't count, then probably a Buck 110.

Let's be honest. I'm a town boy, I think adventures are nasty cold wet things that make you late for supper, and I would either be dead by the third day, or valuable enough for my knowledge that the other survivors would keep me safe.

That depends on the level of preparation I'm allowed to have ;)

I'm I can have time to mull it over, the big blade I would lean toward would be something I am familiar with, easy to sharpen, and can do big work. Most likely a khukuri around 15-16" over all length and of thinner stock. My second is a no brainer: Leatherman Multi tool, most likely my Charge TTi.

If we are talking about what would likely be on my person: The Charge TTi is on me everyday. The last month+ it has been riding along with a Cold Steel 5 Max. So I still feel pretty good with that.

I'd say probably one of my 5 inch belt knives like my lt wright forest trail or ratmandu and a large chopping blade for building shelters and processing wood. Likely my busse battle mistress or parang. If I was stuck in a big city vs my rural area, I'd go a tough folder and a mid-sized fixed blade. Probably a hinderer eklipse and my ratmandu. Definitely would want simple, easy to sharpen steels, and simple operation, nothing to break.
