Only some markings. ID?

Looks to me like its a pre-2005 Sirupati. Maybe very pre. Very nice blade!

How would I know? Is it actually an HI? There is a crack in the handle that has been epoxeed but not sanded down yet and when I got it it only had the karda with it. The chakmak in there is from another Kukri. I found it on ebay for around $45.

You did good! Its a fairly easy fix. I was wondering what the stuff on the other side was? Let us know if you need some help fixing it up. We can guide you on the best way to restore it to like new. Then again... you might know more than usI may have an extra Chakma but ill have to check. Ill send it to ya if I do. I think its wood tho. Im sure yours is HI because of the devanagari script engraving (See pic #2).

Ive never heard of anyone trying to forge one and it does look like HI workmanship just what I can see from the pics. I could be mistaken but i dont think so. The sword of shiva (engraved line down the spine) is single but most later and modern were two lines that meet at the knee or bend.
Before 2005 the Kamis were not obliged to engrave their ID's on the blade but after "Uncle Bill" (Founder and Yangdu's other half) requested that after he passed he wanted the Kamis to put their personal markings on every blade they made. Before 2005 they put the shop ID on some of them (Bir Gorkha in script) sometimes at the ricasso and some at the end of the sword of shiva like yours.
Here are some general links to some Kami markings and info as far as I know:

Theres prolly more but they slipped my brain at this time. Hmmm? Time for some Chang?

BTW: Kami marks are usually on the right side of the blade if held in the hand pointed forward with the spine up. Shop ID and "UB" on left side.
A good handful of assorted sandpaper and maybe a needle file (for groove cleanup) will likely be all you need to bring her back to use. Keep us posed on your progress. Would be Khul to see it restored!

All good but you got the markings reversed. UB and shop are on the right side, kami marks on the left.

I thought they put the kami marks on prior to Uncles passing, they added the UB afterwards.

But again I could be off that by a mile and 3/4.

I have seen these symbols associated with HI before online but not consistently. There are no other markings on the blade. Is this an HI or an imposter?

I'd say it looks like an early HI that was made in "Shop 1", based on information in these threads:
