I saw a CRKT M-16 (I think that was the model). I really liked the looks of this knife and I'm really not a fan of the tanto blade. Does anyone have any comments on the experiences with this model or columbia river in general?

Thanks,
Clay

CRKT makes some decent affordable knives. I carry a small S-2 as part of my EDC rotation.

I have 14 CRKT knives in my collection. I like them all. I find that they offer great value for the money. I gave my son my M-16 Tanto as a gift. I'll replace it later on. I'm probably going to get the
M-18 and Falcon next.

I have yet to have one of the CRKT's be defective out of the box.

I have 5 in my collection and have never had any problems with them. My favourite is probably my CF M16 spear. I prefer the acuto 440 steel over the aus6m. At it's price point they offer a solid knife.

Another one I really like is the Pro Crawford/Kasper 3". Love the size and weight.

I have never had any problems with any of the CRKT's that I've owned.

I have pretty big amount of CRKT knives, additionally I have carefully inspected some dozens of them without finding any quality problem.
Extremely wide palette of top-notched knifemaker designs, everyone can choose something what he or she will like. Nice ratio between price and quality.

Wow, it’s not a problem! Just take a look onto their new M-18. This design is based on the same philosophy as M-16 but it is way refined. Two sizes – full and compact. Carson flipper. LAWKS additional safety. Very sturdy construction. Decent materials and quality. If you basically like M-16 I think M-18 will appeal to you even more.

I agree with Serg. CRKT consistently impresses me with the bang-for-the-buck factor....value versus features. The way they "interpret" custom designs is almost scary. Place the production version next to the custom counterpart and from a distance, you barely can tell them apart. CRKT is highly recommended!

I have a couple of their small S2 models. Got them fairly cheap, and planned on selling or trading them towards more expensive customs. I posted one for sale here, but got no takers. I found that I like the knife so much that I never bothered to BTTT it. I genuinely like the knife. ATS34 and a titanium frame lock for about $50? What's not to like? This little knife opens as smoothly as most customs and locks up as tight as can be. What more can you expect for the money?

I have the neck peck. Neat little knife. Came razor sharp from the factory. Nice little sheath too. All for around twenty bucks.

I agree with all the others, above. My personal fave is the Crawford Kasper Pro. Apache 7011LE and M16-10F also see EDC.

I have many a CRKT knife (hovering around 10-15 now), one of my favorites is the Carbon Fiber M16-14F (I personally prefer Tantos, my EDC is a Titanium Spyderco Bob Lum Tanto), I dont use the CF M16 version but do use the original M16-14 that I purchased, and even with the AUS-8, it holds an edge for awhile and is a very good quality knife overall.

The only reason I do not buy more of the CRKT models is due to the low qualiy steel in alot of thier BEATIFUL colaborated designs with Custom makers....aside from this, I would have to say that CRKT has very well made, easy on the eyes, and Affordable blades (the CRKT S2 with Titanium handles and ATS-34 steel along with the CRKT Wasp w/ AUS-118 Titanium and G-10 are great examples of how they should build all of thier knives - better blade steel on all of them would be a much easier sell to most knife enthusists).

My 2 pennies.......

(as I was typing this, I put bids on a WASP and another S2 :D )

I just picked up a Ryan FB called "plan B"

For 30 bucks it is probably one of the best defensive designs I've seen. My first CRKT! Check it out!

I love them. They are not cheap in Australia $190 for an M16-14 LE. I was given one a few years ago and have six now. I have used an M16-13 at work for a few years, no problems with it. It's just been replaced by the M16. A lot of guys at work have CRKT and everyone loves them. Its not too painful if they get lost as the other brands start at over $200. A workin cops pay ain't that great.

I have two large Mirages, Crawford/ Kasper, Bowie, and just picked up the Bwana for my dad. Great knives for a person who is on a budget and getting started in this madness.:D

I have yet to see anyone on this forum complain about the functionality of a CRKT product. My personal experiences have also been pretty good. They aren't the best by a long shot, but at their price point they're pretty tough to beat. I would and have advised people to buy CRKT when they're looking for a knife and I've also given one of them away as a gift to my brother.

I've had the Neck PECK, Stiff KISS, KISS, Point Guard, and LUS. All were well made knives for a good price.

Since you are not a fan of the tanto point, you do realize that that knife also comes in a spear point, don't you?

I own a Crawford Kasper Pro and an M16 which I like very much. I use the M16 more often, due to its smaller size. I really like the locks, they are solid as well as easy to use. The knives sharpen easily and hold their edges for quite some time. I recieved both for fairly cheap and I don't regret buying either. They deserve a try.

pretty sure they call their frame lock an interframe lock. your talking about the s-2 right?
