I'm just beginning but have noticed a lot of makers here. Is there a list? I'll list the ones I know of. I know there are a lot of manufactures here also but I'm interested in the custom hand made makers. Thanks in advance Mark

I'm here in Jacksonville. If you look in the Knives annuals you'll see a list of makers by state. The last copy I looked at they had me as J'ville, Florida, instead of Oregon.

I probably forgot some active makers.
And there are a dozen more that are occasional makers, some just getting started

I'll be moving to the Portland/Gresham area here in a couple weeks. Never actually made a knife before but I would love to meet some local makers, I'll keep an eye on this thread...

I had no idea that there was so much talent surrounding me!!!

I live in Klamath Falls now and was born and raised in Portland. I didnt know so many makers are around So. Oregon!!!

Hey, my parents are in Klamath Falls! If I make it out there maybe we can hook and talk knives.

You're welcome to visit my shop and make a knife, using my tools and materials. I'm just across the river from Portland in Vancouver, WA. I'm traveling a lot right now, but should have some free time in September. Let me know.

You don't know the can of worms you just opened up ;) I will definitely take you up on that!

I am also looking for an Oregon knifemaker to repair/restore an heirloom Remington R1123 pocketknife. It is a pretty valuable knife but in fairly rough condition and I would like to have it mildly customized with a Damascus blade to replace the one that's broken. I'm in Tualatin, but would be willing to travel an hour or more to find the right craftsman. Any takers?

AHHHH.. the spoils of the NorthWest...Considering how many companys reside here there is a small army of makers that are employed in variuos aspects of the cutlery business here! Heres some full timers...Allen Warren, Shane Siebert, Tim Galyean, A C Richards.
