OT: foreign languages - some useful phrases

Nice list Beo

As for misstranslations, dont forget Coke and Pepsi in China, Coca-cola was transferred literally into Chinese to form a word meaning 'suck tail of wax tadpole' whilst when Pepsi translated its 'generations' slogan into Chinese it came out as 'Pepsi brings your ancestors back to life'.

Some other 'useful' Latin quotes I like:
Quisique commodeus est (everyone's a commedian)

Non plaudite. Modo pecuniam jacite (don't applaud, just throw money)

Post festum, pestum (the end of the holidays are terrible, literally post holidays the plague)

Sit vis vobiscum (may the force be with you)

A rather dodgy translation but still:

Nil bastardum carberundum

The best:

Onis res videor perscitus a latin (everything seems clever in latin)

Interdum feror cupidine partium mangarum europa cincendarum (a cybercookie for anyone who can translate that)

There are a couple of others but I cant remember the translation of them so I will post them later maybe

Dansöz olan bir yer var mý? ("Is there anywhere to go where we can see belly-dancing?" - Turkish)

This is one phrase I'll be using.
