I figure I would spice things up a bit with an OT thread. Also throw in the one Busse you would take with you along with this handgun. Although I am a huge 1911 fan, I am not sure that's the gun that would leave the house with me. I am mulling over this during the Chinese virus attack. Of course a Big Busse would be my SHTF blade. an SHBM or something in that size range. Probably my old faithful slot bolt SHBM.

Glock is out to an early lead, lol

AR15 is a given. Most common gun and rifle ammo in america.

Might need to be more specific:

My get home kit: H&K VP9 with 4 extra mags of ammo, Jackmandu, Gerber hatchet/knife combo, maybe the Cold Steel machete and maybe axe and bow saw. This doesn’t include what is in my GHB - multi-tool, e-rations, water filter, tarp, small knife, fire making equipment, first aid kit.

Shelter In Place - everything I got, but typical daily carry has been a CPK EDC 2 and my BGBM near at hand. Guns easily accessible of all types.

For my INCH Bag - AR15, Busse BGBM and Jackmandu, VP9, CPK EDC 2 ... see above for GHB. Also depends on how I am getting out of here. Truck I can carry more. Walking I have to be more deliberate.

Don't make it difficult. If you have one hour to pack your zhit and leave home, and you can take one handgun, what is it. You can take several hundred rounds of ammo for this handgun and your rifle along with mags. What are you taking. You are never going back home.

Well, my P220 is always with me. I would bug with all three of my EU-17's, for which Mr. Brown is currently making desert camo sheaths...pics to follow soon. And I would have my Springfield SOCOM 16 ready to go. I realized that in 1000 years they would likely find my dead body next to all my knives as I died trying to figure out which ones to take into the apocalyptic wasteland, so the EU's are it. End of story.

LOL

difficult is what I do. Engineer by trade and the KISS principle is so hard to live by.
:rolleyes::oops:o_O

I already have a speedball put together that I can just grab and throw in the truck. Food, water filtration, plate carrier, ammo, mags, cooking supplies, etc. all I have to do is open the safe and grab the toys.

handgun is either my DVCP or Staccato P, wife would get the other and the VP9 and her glock would be backups. The two STIs are just a blast to shoot and the DVC P feels like cheating.

rifle is a sons of Liberty swampfox, but the 6.5 bolt gun will go in the truck for long range reach out and touch someone. Good thing about the bolt rifle is it folds and it’s a quick change barrel so I can break it down and pack it up in a small case. Wife has an AR Pistol and a scoped 308 carbine. Kiddo gets a 22 rifle and pistol. Everyone gets a blade and a hawk

Fun question Cobalt!

I'd have to go with my Nighthawk GRP Recon .45. Crazy accurate and although it only has a 7 round mag capacity that's at least 10 dudes down. :) I also have a .22 conversion for it so I can pack my loaded .45 mags then swap to .22 and carry a pile of .22 rounds and stay lightweight.

Busse to go with me? You silly bastard, my REK'd TGLB of course. It's my "if only one" knife.

Also, thanks for the reminder to test my INCH bag and make sure it is achievable!

LOL. Old School P220 but excellent gun. I carried one for many years. Still a worthy piece

Killer combo. Didn't think of the 22lr mod. Nighthawks are incredible pieces.

I am expecting some Hi powers and CZ75's to pop up as well. Waiting to see a revolver.

I can get comfortable with my old M&P Shield or a Glock 26. They are relatively discrete, and neither will break the bank or raise attention if you have to surrender it. But, I am through with the concept of bugging out. They will just have to bury me under the debris.

Oh, and there would probably be one of Bill Siegle’s knives hanging off the belt to balance the handgun.
