About 5 minutes ago this showed up.
Looks like I will spend today sanding and taking photos.
These are some of Australia's best knife handle woods. The pieces are so well figured I won't even try to describe them. A few different woods all similar to ironwood in density.

OOOOOOH Baby! This feels like Christmas time.

Here is a bad photo.

I thought the blocks felt pretty heavy so I weighed one of the smaller ones.
The block is 5&1/2" long x 1&3/4" x 1&3/8" Weighed over 1/2 pound.

Most of the blocks are amazingly figured desert ringed gidgees. Some red gum, yellow mallee root, red mallee, belah, needlewood and rosewood.
Here is a better shot of some of the gidgees after sanding. Flash makes the colors lighter than they really are though.

Nice. Need to get some of that if posted. Middle row each end looking perfect!

Couple more photos after sanding

Now I need to take measurements, photos and price these guys.

pm sent- what are the yellow ones at the ends of the last pic on top of the gidgee--marekz

A nice selection Mark, they will all make amazing handles. You should see Bruces rifle stock blanks made of Ringed Gidgee, just stunning but i wouldn't want to carry them around all day.:) Glad it is all working out for you, cheers.

I'll send you some Dutch oak and beech if you send me some nice stuff :D
Just joking: beautifull stuff there!

Yeah mate, that mallee is a really nice timber; extremely pretty and tough to boot. Ringed gidgee is about the toughest wood out as well. I have some nice big slabs of brown mallee sittin in my shed begging to be bowie handles.
