Let’s just make sure that knife gets in the mail before we start worrying about members being big meanies.

Take some moral high ground if you want, but last I checked you’re still in possession of another man’s property.

Did you get a chance to mail the knife? The sooner this is rectified the sooner this mess can be laid to rest.

I'd say if you simply followed through with the agreenent made to trade your 2 knives for his one ... or even with the second agreement to return his knife the following day after you tried to change the terms to favor you more ... or even the next agreement to ship his knife back to him the day following the following day where he wasjust wanting his knife returned in like shape it was received... then ... this could have been resolved real easy.

But no. And the sheer number of excuses you've used (not to mention what all of them were) comes of as sheer BS. ... followed by ... the threats to sue and tie up his money for years in court ... among other veiled threats ... which are always a huge help ... NOT.

And after all that he's still just asking that you return his property in the same condition he sent it to you in??? Looks like you have a way to make it right still at this point ... and seems as though you may not even do that. That is the absolute very very least that you can do ... and that's still to tough to accomplish?

Just ship his knife back as it was and walk away learning to not make a deal if you have no intention of meeting the terms as they were set.

You’ve been a member long enough to know that someone being shady on a deal IS a concern to the community. At the very least it informs people’s decisions to buy/trade with you later.

Myself and others asked for you to weigh in. When you did you denied, counter accused, and THEN threatened a lawsuit. Jesus dude! What kind of schoolyard bully are you? When the OP posted your agreement it appears that, indeed, you did exactly what he claimed.

There’s nothing funny here. You’ve dishonored yourself with your response to this interaction. If you are an attorney: I am highly doubtful of your reputation for professional integrity. If you are a Marine: I feel embarrassed at the shame you have brought on the tradition.
 
I will note just one thing- if you read the messages, phillyjeff continually made promises that OP had to follow up on after the deadline was blown. Such as a message from Vegas on Wednesday July 6th promising pictures on Friday, then OP had to follow up a week later to get them.

Honestly, looking through it all, it seems he’s not doing anything on time as promised.
 
If “personal issues” really are at the root of all this, perhaps it’s best not to be trading knives on the internet. PhillyJeff is still actively pursuing knives, and I can’t for the life of me figure out why you’d continue posting in the exchange if your issues are so numerous that doing things like mailing a package are too big a burden. Maybe adjust your priorities in life.

If I were you, I wouldn’t poke the emotional bear any longer. Let it play out and let the mods do their thing. You’ll either get the knife back, or you won’t, and the mods would then likely ban him. No sense in developing a stronger link to someone with significant mental concerns through the back and forth, IMHO.

Better to spend your time packing and mailing, then spreading BS. If you want your transactions to be private, then get them solved privately. Once they get to this forum that is out the window. So far this is playing out as a theft- lots of excuses not to mail, threats of lawsuits, then complaining about those that point out the bad behavior. Still no shipping. Shipping (or paying for) is the only resolution and the only way to keep any positive reputation.
