Yup. Imagine that middle "notch" in the middle and the corners are marred up.
Just fyi I've heard nothing but bad things about knife art, not saying any of them are true, but they don't appear to be in the best standing among knife guys
I haven't bought an emerson for years now. mainly due to fit and finish, blade play and thin liner locks. recently, I purchased a CQC-15 and 8 and I'm amazed with the fit and finishing and the lock was a bit ticker. the only slight blemish issue and found is that the new pivot screws are all marred up. it seems that whoever saw assembling it does not know how to properly tighten screw. upon looking some pictures on google, I guess most pivot screws are marred from the factory.
I recently got a 2014 mini-15 and a 2013 7V from reputable online dealers and my screws have the notches, so I'm guessing it is standard factory setups.
Here are what my pivots look like:

Knifechop, good to hear. Also if I came across as abrasive, I did not mean to. It seems like every other day this forum gets people who like to troll and whatnot. Keep us updated on the solution.
I had a problem with a knife bought from KnifeArt. They exchanged it, as requested, problem free.
Now you can't say you've heard nothing but bad things about them![]()
Now that you say that, and I look at it, that's pretty cool. I never noticed that before! They may look that way but they are not. Those pivot bolts are that way to accommodate different flat head screwdrivers. You can use a smaller or larger head.
You know, I got to thinking about what he's talking about. This is what I suspect he thinks is marred, correct me if I'm wrong.
