Hi guys,

I'm planning a trip to the US next year around May - June.

Need some suggestions about events/place to go to, things to see. Any suggestions are welcome, knife/gun shows are even better.

Cheers

Most obvious...Blade Show in beginning of June. Atlanta . Largest knife show ever.
Sensory over load!

I'll be going to the US the end of May myself :D

...and everyone can bet there ass I'll be at blade show in atlanta! I cant wait!!! although the cost is i'm meeting my future mother in law...SHIIIIITTTTT!!!

Since this is bladeforums; Atlanta and the Blade show are the only stops you need to make. If you're interested in American Civil War history, stop by Stone Mountain while you're in the area. Lots of intersting scenery.

If i were in the US this is what i'd do:

1) Blade show
2) Porn convention
3) Go to Filson store
4) Go to newgraham to meet Mr. Dye and Mary Beth and the crew
5) Smithsonian
7) Yellow stone

damn can't list 'em all...there's just too much stuff to do there....

Blade show was just what I was hoping to hear :D

The plan is shaping up allong these lines:

LA - Austin - Atlanta - New Orleans - NY/Boston.

So events or things to do within a day drive or so would be great.

LA - Austin - Atlanta - New Orleans - NY/Boston. Great choice of cities, hope someone recommends a good gun show, ( it won't be in California, or NY/Boston).

look on the ABS and Bladesmith Guild websites, they have lists of events on which are supported by them or a part of the knife smiths show tours...

Point44, not sure if your list is in order of preference....if so, I am humbled that New Graham beats out the likes of the Smithsonian and Yellowstone, but a little dissapointed a porn convention beats Mary Beth :D

SMKW in TN is pretty cool, and if you get that far you might as well go to the home of the world's tallest roller coaster (last I checked), Cedar Point in Sandusky, Ohio. .

Well, as this is bladeforums of course blade show. As an Ohioan, I can say that if you go to Cedar Point, all other amusement park will fall into a category known as "second tier."

I can also vouch for Washington DC. The best part about Dc is that a lot of stuff is free. All of the smithsonians are free, as is the zoo. I spent some time there this summer sleeping in Union Station.

If you are going west, got to the Grand Canyon. People may say it's a giant hole in the ground, but the hole is amazing.

If you know waht states you will be in and when, just google "gun show" and whatever state you will be in.

Good luck, and happy travels.

:D

The list is not in order. If it's in order somehow i think newgraham and filson would be tops. After that it'll have to be places with free admission.

I'll put Mary Beth above the porn convention as well. She's been sorting out my lost torchlight.

DAMN...just checked out the site...the Skirmish is in!
Time to go down the road and sell some blood.

I know it's sounds trite, but if you have a chance to see Niagara Falls, EVER, you shouldn't miss it.I've seen it ~30 times (My grandmother lived about an hour away), but it took seeing it as an adult to make me really appreciate it. If you go, ride the Maid of the Mist!

44...LOL...yea, New Graham, meeting the needs of an addicted population ;)

If you need advice for the Austin area or just want to get together for a beer and some knife talk shoot me an email. I know all the good local barbecue joints, too.
