I have a blurple PM2 in S110V. When carving with a tip it broke off. The grain structure looks odd and there is a discoloration. It's difficult to get pictures but I did the best I could. Is this common with CPM S110v?

Wow, definitely a crack that's been there for awhile. +1 to send it in. Let us know what happens.

Just curious… what where you carving? If it was wood, what type?

Ide also send it in. Worst case it comes back as is and you reprofile the spine to make a new tip. Best case, spyderco replaces it

I wouldn’t have used s110v to carve. It’s benefit is edge retention so straight forward cutting tasks are best. Regardless, I’d send it back in to have Spyderco take a look to possibly prevent a loss of use if they end up fixing it.

The discoloration on the crack does make it seem like it was pre-existing. If their warranty is any good, Spyderco will probably replace it.

This
s110v was made for plastic mold injection cutting at factories. It is not for carving.

That being said, just send it in.
