I was asked by a member to provide more information about the pocket clip that I installed on my Smoke Jumper. Here are more detailed pictures that show the parts that I used for this installation. This set up can be used on any of the Light Weight models produced to date.

These parts consist of two button head #10 torx screws, one pocket clip and a shaft that is threaded at both ends with a six sided nut at one end. This nut fits into the top of pocket clip as illustrated in the photos.

Awesome improvising! Clip fits like it was made for the knife. Now I want me a 110LT even more.

I know those clips well feom modding LM tools. Same one that comes with the Wingman model, yes? And I assume you had to drill a hole in one scale for the clip piece that prevents it from rotating? Did you have to enlarge the lanyard hole in the smoke jumper?

I apologize for my slow response. My neighbor needed some help.

Yes this clip and the associated parts come with the Wingman,Rev and Sidekick.I was fortunate to find these clips and all of the parts on the bay. Most of the Leatherman clips sold there don't have but one part and that is one button head screw.

I did drill a small hole to prevent rotation but that may not be necessary.

I didn't have to enlarge the lanyard hole,as the threaded shaft fit perfectly.

Where can I find that hex/shaft piece? I see the clips for sale but not the shaft.

Yes that's an issue that I addressed in my post.If you can't find the complete set you may have to buy the whole tool and cannibalize it.You can also look on knife supply sites and find blade pivot assemblies that are threaded on both ends with screws that fit in each end.

That's the best I can advise. Good luck.

How well do those clips hold up? Reviews on the Leatherman site aren't very good. But then multitools tend to be a lot heavier than the LT ...

I would argue the "hex shaft thing" may not be required for this mod. Although S sportingspecialist should weigh in. But a basic Chicago screw might work if the shaft diameter is right. I think the hex thing is mainly to ease assembly and operation of the LM tool.

OK thanks. I'll look around
If you're able to buy the clips for $7.00,then you can buy these barrel pivot pins for less than $3.00.At that price you'll have a viable pocket clip for your Buck knife with very little alteration to the original Buck.

I haven't read any reports on the Leatherman site.I have read numerous posts on tool sites and have never noticed any negative comment about the clip.

I alluded to this in my post and stated that it may not be necessary.I do believe it may be the most optimal set-up if you're able to get all of the factory parts.

In another post I provided alternatives, such as barrel pivot pins with screws.
