Pocket Sheaths or Belt Sheaths

I like belt sheaths- I can make one - it holds the knife where I can get to it with ease
Less chance to loose the knife or damage it.

One I did for a scout knife.....:)

Some knives I carry loose in a pocket. Some I carry in a knife purse (slip case) to keep them from getting scratched up. I have a few but I only have a photo of one of them. Buck used to include this case with the 301 stockman.

Here's an old catalog page from the early 1900s

I put a small grommet at the top of a Chris Reeve pouch (to stop the leather from pulling/stretching) and I attached a vintage watch fob chain to it. The other end attaches to my belt loop. The chain length allows the pouch/knife to stand up straight in my pocket. When I need the knife, I just pull out the pouch, release the knife and leave the pouch hanging from my belt loop until I'm ready to put the knife back. Sometimes the simplest solutions are the best solutions.

BOSEKNIVES LEGAL DEPARTMENT
BK-Form-100a - GIRLY KNIFE-PURSE WAIVER
Authorized by: _________________
(Invalid unless signed by T.Bose)
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
BoseKnives Girly Knife-Purse Waiver: In consideration of being permitted to
participate in any way in girly behavior(see Note #1), hereinafter called "The Activity", I,
Tony Bose, for myself, my heirs, personal representatives or assigns, do hereby release,
waive, discharge, and covenant not to make fun, tease, or otherwise chide the bearer of
this document for The Activity. The owner of BoseKnives, its officers, employees, and
agents will be held from liability from any and all claims including the negligence of the
bearer of this document named below, its officers, employees and agents, resulting in
personal injury, accidents or illnesses, and property loss arising from, but not limited to,
participation in The Activity.
Assumption of Risks: Participation in The Activity carries with it certain inherent risks
that cannot be eliminated regardless of the care taken to avoid injuries. The specific risks
vary from one activity to another, but the risks for The Activity range from 1) minor
injuries such as scratches, bruises, etc. due to being slapped for not quickly producing
your waiver for inspection after being caught using a knife purse 2)or having your
feelings hurt by strangers who are not aware of your waiver to 3) property loss due to real
men taking quick action by “saving” a great Bose knife wasted on a girly man before you
have had a chance to produce the officially signed waiver. S**t happens! Other
unredeemable girly like activities nullify the waiver(See Note #2)
I have read the previous paragraphs and I know, understand, and appreciate these and
other risks that are inherent in The Activity. I hereby assert that I knowingly assume all
such risks. (initial )
Indemnification and Hold Harmless: I also agree to INDEMNIFY AND HOLD Tony
Bose from any and all claims, actions, suits, procedures, costs, expenses, damages and
liabilities, including attorney’s fees brought as a result of my involvement in The Activity
or unredeemable girly like behavior (You better read Note #2 again)
Severability: The undersigned further expressly agrees that the foregoing waiver and
assumption of risks agreement is intended to be as broad and inclusive as is permitted by
the law of Wilfred Works and that if any portion thereof is held invalid, it is agreed that
the balance shall, notwithstanding, continue in full legal force and effect.
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Acknowledgment of Understanding: I have read this waiver of liability, assumption of
risk, and indemnity agreement, fully understand its terms, and understand that I am
giving up substantial rights, including my right to cry like a girl when I feel like it,
promise not to sit down (squat) to pee, and will not under any circumstances have apparel
or accessories that match my knife purse. I acknowledge that I am signing the agreement
freely and voluntarily, and intend by my signature to be a complete and unconditional
release of all liability by Tony Bose for uncovered girly man behavior to the greatest
extent allowed by the law of Wilfred Works.

Notes:
1, The Activity = Using a girly knife purse, sometimes called a “pouch” to carry a pocket knife.
2, When Tony says something is girly, it is.

I have a whole bunch of pouches and sheaths and i dont use any of them , of the ones i do not use these are my favourites, the top one is a do it yourself kit that was too small to be any use so i trimmed the flap off and pulled out the fastener from the front, it sits nicely on the belt, the bottom one is a nice slip, but as i mostly carry knives that ride in my "peanut pocket" i do not really need the extra stuff.

Excellent idea - I think I'll try it!

I have a nice KSF pocket sheath for my Case Back Pocket knife. Really nice product. I don't carry that knife very often, but when I do I carry it in that sheath - helps keep it upright which I prefer for a bigger knife like that.

I've been thinking about getting a belt sheath for my Case Trappers and/or Large Stockman. Those are weekend carry knives so a belt holster would work out just fine for those bigger knives. During the work week I go with small and slim, in my pocket, no sheath.

Though my Dockers slacks have a little inside coin pocket that the bottom of the right front that is just perfect as a little built-in knife pouch, so that's where whatever I am carrying (almost always a Vic Cadet or Bantam) rides.
