You know - not only should Kabar hire you, the Gimp folks should hire you too. That looks great!

Beckerhead #42

Thanks brother, appreciated. I get an idea in my head, and just roll with it. I feel like my head's gonna explode if I don't do something about it.

I've been firen mah laz0r!

Well, technically, it's mah bosses' laz0r, but I've been firen it nonetheless.

One pass of the laser is usually enough to get through any coating and a few µ into the steel under it. We had to do 2 passes to get to bare steel, and then, just for the heck of it, did about 5 more. The etching should be a few 100ths deep now.

And yes, I did manage to put a scratch into the coating literally 3 mins after the engraving was done.

I really like this knife, I edc it in my back pocket and use it all the time at work. The sheath, not so much. Need to get some TDI clip compatible azwelke pants.

nice lazering :)

that'll buff out.

and you probably won't be selling that one :>

So I took out the boxes and stuff for the latest Becker family photo.

My first Becker, and I'm hooked.Took this out for a stroll the other day.Got it used in a trade and am now taking a long look at the rest of my fixed blades and thinking of what to put up in trade for a 5 and a 9.She came to me stripped and rusty,in pretty sad shape really, but what a chunk of steel! I've done a convex edge and cleaned her up some.Have an AZWelke sheath on the way for her and am looking for some new scales.Think I'll try a forced patina or even black the flats (I found this thread on getting a deep black patina, really good idea http://www.bladeforums.com/forums/showthread.php/928315-Get-A-Deep-Even-Black-Patina-On-1095-Carbon-Steel.Don't think it's been done to a Becker yet!) Lake Hartwell,SC in the background, this is my little piece of shoreline looking east. Gotta get working on getting my BeckerHead #,definitely the start of a long and wonderful Becker addiction!
