I was just wondering, on the Fulcrums the blade seems to be fullered along the spine, this appears to be too high for a blood groove, does anyone know what this feature is designed to do?

Something like that is usually a band breaker. For military use, a lot of equipment (including ammo) is shipped and stored in boxes wrapped in metal banding. The band breaker can be slipped between the box and band, twisted and snapped in a second.

Never heard of "band-breakers" before, but sounds like something very practical. I just thought it was to lighten blade.

That indentation does in fact lighten the blade and also increases the strength and flexibility of the blade.

I stand corrected! A band breaker is usually what this feature is, but I misjudged on this one. Sorry about that.
