Question about motor/vfd.

Yeah so first of all I have the same grinder and I love it. I attached a Dayton 2hp B184 frame. It didn't even come close to fitting so I have it attached to a piece of 1/4 steel plate and the grinder is also bolted to that, I can get you pictures if you want. My point is, if you are mechanically inclined you can easily fab up a mount for just about any motor for fairly cheap. This allows you to just pick a good, powerful, cheap motor regardless of whether it bolts right on. I can post pictures of what I did. That unit also is fairly expensive, I cheaped out and got a Chinese VFD and used ebay motor. However, this allowed me to wire 220v into my shop and get a more powerful motor for less than a kvac and new motor or the link you posted. My motor was $150, VFD $70, metal plate, box for vfd, wire and circuit breakers for 220v was like another $120. Personally, I think that's the way to go if you are willing or thinking about 220v and VFD.
