Larger survival blades aren't really of use in the arctic and tundra. They mostly use snow saws to cut blocks for shelter. there isn't a whole lot of wood, and the wood there is is frozen and needs an axe. Most of knife use is probibly animal processing and other fine blade work.
I respect that you want to test your knives under hard conditions, but its a classic blade forums case of a guy in South America telling someone in a Namibia he needs at least a 19 inch machete. Make a knife for a relevant location and circumstance and find somone to test it under those conditions.
edit: sorry I thought i was posting this under the canadian forum... I'll just copy and paste it over.
