Question for Sal

Sal, I ordered a left handed, plain edge Civilian from Jeff Loffer @ The Cutlery Shoppe and he just informed me that due to a problem with the carbon fiber, my knife won't be available until the end of June...maybe. What the dilly-o? Was there a small production run that was halted? Can you tell me what the problem was? When might I expect to receive my new baby?

Kinda wondering a bit myself. The carbon fibers have been out awhile now (even numbered ones) but the 200 numbered for collectors we have to wait till july or august? Just wondering.

Hi Lars. Welcome to the Spyderco forum.

Sorry for your disappointment. The original plan was to only make 600 pieces. Numbered Collectors alone ordered more than that so I increased the quantity to 1200 so there would be some for non numbered collectors as well. the first 600 are gone and we're waiting for the 2nd 600.

I might also add that a number of distributors ordered far more pieces than they will be able to receive, so not everyone will get everything they'd hoped for.
