How hard is 3v to sharpen? I'm really liking the looks of the Bushmaster but a little concern about sharpening it.I've heard some folks say itts hard to sharpen while others say its not.

3v is a very hard tough steel thats the beauty of it so yes it will be harder than say 01.However using diamond stones it wont be a problem and it will hold it edge longer so you wont need to sharpen it as often

I have not noticed any difficulty with my 3v scandi....except it stays sharp for a good while!

Well I waited to long. The two natural canvas ones sold . Maybe next time.

I've found it takes a bit longer to sharpen than my softer steels but it doesn't really require any extra force or excessive will power to get it sharp. My BushMaster does however hold an edge extremely well. I sharpen mine with the Lansky system with a 5* micro-bevel and my BushMaster has been very impressive with regards to edge retention which is great for a heavy use knife.
