questions about kabar 1217

I was gonna say the D2 EF then a tie for the 1317 and MK1. I have found my 3 D2 Kabars (2 1464's, 1 D2 Extreme Fighter) to be the most inderstructable, best edge holding, wicked edge taking and versatile camp/survival knives I have ever owned. Had my D2 EF convexed and swedge sharpened now it will baton through anything using the serrations alone. As a fighting knife the D2 EF is down right one of the best there is due to Kabars unbelievably strong D2 steel. The 2 D2 1464's I have I had one also convexed now it as well batons through anything and just will not lose its edge. As a fighter I feel the 1464 juuust a bit to short.

The Mk1 is the best all around bushcrafter Kabar makes. The half guard fat handle and perfect full flat grind on it make it stone cold perfect for utility/camp/woods work.

Ive got my 1317 on order from Tomars now. Trying to get them to laser engrave it. Im sure with the thumb over guard and awesome pommel it is going to do nothing be incredible. I always have that fear though that Ill be doing some heavier baton work with a 1095 FU Kabar and the tang will snap. You really gotta push it for that to happen but vids of that happening are up on YT.

The D2 EF I consider to be my most indestructable true fighter/utility/camp knife even over my big Beckers. When I first got it I stabbed a cinder block into chunks with it leaving only coating loss around the tip. The edge and the tang were fine. I even did the hammer it into a tree thing and stood on the handle (I weigh 225) and bounced on it. It took an hour to get it out of the tree but still!

Kabar has the most well done and truly toughest of the tough D2 tool steels I have ever seen I do not know how they do it but they do it.

The 1317 looks so freaking good though I wouldnt want to mess it up!

The D2 EF is currently out for cerakote. Good luck
