I don't suppose anyone knows where I could get a comparison picture of an Assault Shaker and a Basic 3? Preferably lined up at the tip, preferably with something thrown in (maybe a ruler) for scale.

Anyone have one handy, or mind snapping one real quick?

Thanks,
JamesA

This isn't a very good picture, but here it is anyway.

Edited to add that my rules aren't actually bent, but for some reason they look that way in the photo!

Anybody wanto bet that sooner or later there will be a talented and ambitious wood owrker who will make a set of "pistol grips" that will sllip over the handle of an A.S. and be fastened securely yet removable? What dandy little hunting knife that would be. When you are through hunting, it returns to duty as a neck knife by mere removal of its "hunting clothes."

What about making those slabs so they just dont cover the handle, but extend it in length?

NOW that would be cool.

You know, that handle slab idea has me thinking... when my Shaker gets here, I'm going to have to try something like that. It sounds like a lot of fun.

I am really starting to like this handle slab idea. Especially using them to extend the length of the handle. It wont be the same as if the actual handle were longer, but for some of the usual use it would ork for it. And if they were made out of say, G-10 Carbon Fiber or Micarta, they would still have some strength to them.
