Random Thought Thread

Drove a motorcycle the first 2 years before I could afford a car. Snow, rain, didn’t matter, it was transportation, and school was 4.5 miles away, got tired of running home and back to school, and it let me work during the lunch hour and before sports began.

I was money hungry and it paid off, even being a teenager 👍
I did that also 2 years in Oregon insurance was cheap. It made dating hard in the winter.
 
Our oldest is turning 15 and has started talking about his first ride being an old square body, Ford or Chevy. Considering how much body work cost for aluminum trucks…square body is sounding better all the time.

There’s a super clean 78 GMC K2500 on bring a trailer right now that has my interest piqued now that Leno’s Law passed here in CA.

Oh yes. Insurance was like $50/ year with passenger insurance included. Wore dual Army winter fatigues and full helmet. A real road warrior at the time. But I loved it, an experience I don’t regret. 👍

Finally bought a used 71 Mach 1 when I turned 18, what a nightmare that was. Every week was a new wrench project, cool car, but a money pit.

He might. But hopefully the shock therapy he's currently undergoing is helping to change some of his unhealthy habits.
