Now that a significant and growing amount of content on the internet is AI generated, AI is beginning to eat its own tail.
I'm pretty good at detecting the hokie cheesy fluffy nonsense style of AI generated content and I have found that many articles that I click on and probably most of the internal clickbait is all AI generated fluff. It's everywhere. And the creators are good at getting it included on Google search result returns. It's all over social media too. Quality content is being replaced with AI tripe
I was perusing a thread on another forum, that showed both, how impressive, and how scary/concerning AI tech is.
There are several platforms, where you can take a photograph, and use prompts to make the AI create a video from the still. A member asked if the more tech savvy folks could animate photos of his deceased wife, just to have some clips to remember her by, and said he was deeply touched by the results, some of which he said, resembled things/movements she did in real life.
Some of the examples have been quite impressive, but between the deepfakes, transplanting faces onto other people (one of the earliest examples that both impressed and creeped me out, was the deepfake of an interview with the actor Bill Hader, where they kept morphing his face back and forth between his real face, and Tom Cruise), and the oddly hilarious AI voice morphing tech (eg. Making it look and sound like Arnie singing Nothing Compares To You), things are going to get even worse, with some people already choosing to believe anything that doesn’t support their previously held position, must be fake, while others will be easily fooled into tirades over deepfakes.
