Ranger knives

Here's mine. The Kydex is by David Brown of Buy Brown. The handle grooves where something I did with a hand file and Dremel.

You can't go wrong with a Ranger. I had the edges thinned on mine as I like a blade that can chop but also cut.

Do you mean that you just brought the edge on both sides to a more acute angle (or did you have a larger part of the blade profile ground down)?

Did you do it or was it done by Justin?
 
The RD9 has the entire blade profile thinner. The RD7 in the top photo has the edge only thinned and convexed. Justin did the blade work on both.

I removed the black epoxy coat on the RD7 myself with paint stripper and sanded to a satin finish.

Nice work hatchetjack. I have a RD9 and RD7 that might get a personal custom job after seeing how you did yours. I like that Maxpedition ya got there too!

BTW, Rangers come typically with 5160 steel but Justin Gingrich will use other steels upon request. S7 seems to be a popular one for Ranger fans lately. You can call or e-mail him with your particulars. He is very easy to work with.
