Really small keychain blade.

Hm, All I Can Think Is The Spyderco Kiwi Or The Boker Wharcom(Frame Lock) But It's A Pretty Fat Knife Lol.

Or If You Can Do Without It Being Being A Wharncliffe But Not Have A Huge Curve, The Spyderco Squeak Seems To Fit. - It's A Slip Joint With FRN Scales, Etc.

For ultra small the Spyderco Bug, surprisingly functional.

Schrade Simple Simon.
you can get non USA one son the bay for like 10bux
its a wharnie
carabiner type key chain knife.
doesn't look like a knife till you open it.thisd is truer of the "new" ones than the original.
good luck

I EDC an Esee Izula , But I ALWAYS have my little Spyderco Ladybug in my pocket as well . It's a GREAT little locking blade knife that cuts as well as many much larger knives .

HOLD MY BEER AND WATCH THIS !

I think I am gonna jump on that spyderco kiwi, a little large, but still manageable and it has some adequate steel. Plus it looks like you can really choke up on the blade so it doesn't look so aggressive which is good. I may also get the honeybee to have some variety since both of them together are still in the price range. Thanks everyone for the suggestions!

I was going to suggest a Spyderco Ladybug (I have the ZDP version on my keychain, it can be found for $36 online where I got mine) but with the non-locking requirement, that goes out the window. And since you don't want a traditional slipjoint, that narrows things down.

That leaves the Spyderco Kiwi, Grasshopper, or Honeybee.

You could always have your ward pitch in and get you a Spyderco Urban:)

Haha, I don't know if my ward would go for that, they just don't have the same affinity for knives that I have. For them, a knife is a knife, for me it is a passion... People in the real world just don't understand me :( . But I would feel better traveling with non locking slip joints, I actually just ordered the kiwi and honeybee, should be here Friday, I will probably post some pictures when I get them (not that you haven't seen them before, but I am just excited about it) :)

Sounds like you may have found a fit, but I wanted to post this for fun. Fits the size and non-locking metal description, but not the correct blade style.

I just got my spyderco ladybug today. :D So small and nice on the keychain. Sharp as hell! Btw what is the huge blue spyderco knife?

I am liking the spyderco options so far. I have a Vic classic but I am looking for something new and with a little more.... Heft, if you know what I mean:D . It doesn't need to lock, but the Vic has too much play in it and doesn't feel as substantial as many of the single bladed knives I have had. I will probably carry the Vic tinker, classic, and whatever I buy next. Thanks for all the suggestions so far!

I EDC a Classic SD attached to a Gerber Shard for the abusive stuff with a 2" long loop of cord. I've found the combo works better for me (urban use) than the tinker. The Spyderco Kiwi C75SS3 is a bit longer then your looking for (2.4 handle to tip with 2.0 cutting edge), but fits the other criteria.

Well I have good news and not so good news. My knives came in from amazon today (that's about 12 hours from placing the order to getting the package!), but I got the wrong bug. I ordered the honeybee and a kiwi but got the bug and a kiwi, I think I will keep it though, it's not worth the haste to replace. I was probably gonna end up buying the bug anyways :P I think the kiwi is bigger than I imagined and the bug is smaller, but the combo should work out well for many different situations.

I love the Spyderco Bug line. The bug is actually my favorite. At first it looks like some silly little toy, but it can actually get some serious cutting done. THe ladybug is a good choice too!
