cool, that looks like a decent stabby one.
i shall try mine on the first riveted* mail clad attacker i encounter after it's arrival - with a backup if it fails. i have a nice stick with a 2.5 in. steel ball head that would do.
*-cheaper butted mail is too easy.
p.s. - a bit of googling on katars shows a lot of images, some with the x-verse bars connected, some not, about even. the 'new one does seen to have a larger diameter sleeve in the centre of the bars, hopefully not covering a gap in the central bar. beware ones cast iron or steel. the blades of the good ones were tabbed, inserted into slots in the grip and hammer welded, then ground & decorated, i can see this in my rapier bladed one, the welds of the inserted carrier are there, and checkered over on the inside. the two bars have their central swellings touching but not connected, and you can see where the bars penetrated the side bars and were hammer welded, then decorated over. they swell slightly as they touch the sides, the stub going thru the side bars is a bit narrower and then hammered over/peened.
on-arrival pics, i've stabilised the red rust, cleaned and ballistoled since.
