recently ordered some waxed white linen thread and it was so waxy it was insane. I honestly felt like i was sewing with a candle wick. Wax was getting everywhere even after trying to strip alot of the wax off the thread. Im thinking it was probably the brand I was using. Just wondering what you guys recommend for a nice crisp white thread?

I have made very good experiences with a twine called "trout twine". I don't know if this is available where you live under that name, but it's not waxed so you can put as much or as little wax as you like on there. Just get some beeswax and pull the thread over the edge of the wax block, this will slowly cut a notch into the block and wax your twine real good.

It is available in black, brown and white.

Again, I don't know whether it is available in the USA or if it's even called trout twine. I can take photos if needed.

take care

I use the waxed hand -stitching thread from Tandy, and like it.
