So I got an o1 recon scout recently, and found the handle to be grippy but abrasive when gripped tightly. Seems a few people have had a similar issue out there on the Internet and the consensus seems to be to wear work gloves which i dont like doing - so I thought I'd post my cheapskate solution.
Had some spare motorcycle inner tubes laying around in the shed so I grabbed the least manky money and cut it down to size.
Now as the motorcycle tube was a bit large for a snug fit on the handle I cut it at double the handle length then rolled it so one half was inside the other. Bicycle inner tube would probably fit better. Pushing it over and up the grippy handle took some doing so I'm happy it's not going to come off without a similar degree of brute force.
Added a lanyard as extra insurance due to an old open fracture killing a nerve and making most of my thumb numb.
Stuck the obligatory firsteel loop and lmf on the sheath as well.
